About Us

The vignerons at Moppa Hills Vineyard are John and Vicki, a husband and wife team. Although having purchased the vineyard only eight years ago, they have extensive experience in most aspects of viticulture.

Vicki spent over 10 years at the Wine Research Institute where she gathered valuable experience in wine industry operations generally.

John, who has a PhD in soil science and worked as a Principle Research Scientist with CSIRO for more than 30 years, brings a wealth of knowledge on soils to the vineyard together with a balanced scientific approach to managing the vines with respect to the specific characteristics of the Moppa soils.

Vicki and John are both endulging their passion for the Barossa Valley wines and have committed to the wine industry by developing their unique, boutique cellar door.
